Community activity
Quit works with community groups to help keep Victorians healthy.
There are many other ways we work in your community. This section offers support to different communities.
We are interested in working with your community, contact us if you would like to know how we can work together.

12 hours after quitting almost all the nicotine is out of your system!
Step 1 - Find your reasons to quit
Exploring why you want to quit is an important first step to quitting success.
Kids before cigs
The Victorian Government is currently considering new tobacco reforms to help protect kids from the harms of tobacco.
Quit Courses
Many smokers who have tried to quit have found a Quit course made the difference. Trained Educators run Quit courses throughout Victoria including Fresh Start (8 sessions) and the Short Course (2 longer sessions).
Aboriginal communities
Quit Victoria delivers Aboriginal health worker training, supports Aboriginal health workers and funds grants to Aboriginal health services.
Multicultural project
The Multicultural Project offers Victorians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds information about the health effects of smoking and support for smokers to quit.
Mental health settings
Quit's Special Settings Project works with mental health agencies such as hospitals and community organisations to address the high rates of smoking amongst people with a mental health condition.
Schools
Learn what schools can do to decrease youth smoking rates. Initiatives include tobacco education in the school curriculum and developing and making a smokefree policy. In this section you can also read our Prevention Strategy.
Entertainment venues
Over the past few years the Victorian Government has passed a number of smokefree laws within the hospitality sector to help people breathe.
Local government
Data released in 2008 by TCCV on smoking-caused deaths in Victorian local government areas shows that smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in every local government area.
Workplaces
