Upcoming Quit courses

Quit courses are for smokers who want to quit, cut down or manage their smoking. The courses are developed by The Cancer Council Victoria and have helped thousands of people quit smoking. Many smokers who have tried to quit before have found the Quit course made the difference.

More about Quit Courses 

Who runs the course? 
Courses are facilitated by Quit Educators, who are trained and accredited by Quit Victoria (a unit of The Cancer Council Victoria). Quit Educators are regularly updated on the latest information about helping people to quit smoking.

Are there different courses to suit my needs?
Quit Educators run a variety of courses including long and short courses to fit in with your schedule. Courses include: 

  • Fresh Start course - An eight session course run over four weeks.
  • Short Course - The same content as the Fresh Start course but run in two sessions of three hours, two to three weeks apart.
  • Workplace and Community Seminars - A 60-90 minute information and education session for both smokers and non-smokers. 
  • One-to-One Support - Can be a 5 minute chat or more extensive support depending on your needs. Contact your local Quit Educator to discuss the options.

Where are the courses run?
Quit courses are run on demand throughout Victoria. On-site workplace courses are also available. Contact Margarita Gregov at Margarita.Gregov@cancervic.org.au for further information.

What if there is no course booked in my area?
Courses run on demand. If there isn't one booked near you, call the Quitline to speak to our friendly, professional advisors. Quitline can give you advice about quitting smoking and talk you through the best options for your situation.
