Setting a date to quit is an important step in putting your plan into action.
- Pick a date within the next two weeks. This gives you enough time to prepare, but ensures you won't lose your motivation to quit.
- Choose an easy day to stop smoking. One when you will not be under much pressure, but will have plenty to occupy you.
- Take the date seriously. Don't come up with excuses to change it.
- Try practising quitting before you quit completely.
