Step 1: Find your reasons to quit

There's no doubt that your life will be better without cigarettes. But in which ways?

What is really important to you?

Think carefully about why you want to quit smoking. There are many obvious reasons for quitting, but some will be much more important to you than others. After all, everyone's different.

People who have quit say it's important to be clear about your reasons.

In this section you'll find:

  • information on the cost of smoking (and how much you'll save by giving up)
  • the effects of smoking on your body
  • other good reasons to quit
  • a tool to help you create and remember your own reasons
  • a deciding to quit checklist to help you prepare for your quit attempt.

In Step 1 you'll work out which reasons are most important to you.

In Step 2 you'll create your own plan.

In Step 3 you'll put your plan into action.
