Vaping resources guide

This guide provides an overview of how Quit’s vaping presentation resources package is to be used. Please read this guide in full prior to use as it includes some important information.

Resource usage

Quit has developed a suite of resources (detailed below) to help you to support community settings to learn more about vaping and how to deal with it. The resources enable you to deliver a vaping presentation to the settings you work with. The slides provided, which include comprehensive speaking notes, and a supporting messaging guide and FAQs, summarise the latest evidence and understanding about vaping.

Please note the presentations are not intended for delivery to children or teen audiences as research insights indicate that a more tailored approach is needed to influence behaviour. They are also not suitable as a student teaching resource.

Resource amendments

Feel free to delete or change the order of the slides provided to suit your needs. You can also include individual slides in a broader presentation that includes other topics – please paste the whole slide including the Quit branding and logo. We ask that you do not amend the content of the slides in any way. The resources reflect the most current evidence and understanding about vaping together with Quit’s expert perspective on the topic. If you feel some amendments are fundamental to being able to use the resources, please contact Quit to discuss using the contact details below.

Access to resources

These resources are not publicly available on Quit’s website or promoted through social media. This is because we do not want them to be visible to harmful industry groups. This is one of the reasons why you were asked to sign up to access these resources.

Sharing resources

Quit would like these resources to be used by as many people working to support key community settings as possible to meet the evident need for more vaping information. However, we request that you do not share these resources either privately or publicly. Instead, if your colleagues or collaborators would like to use these resources, please ask them to contact Quit to sign up to receive them (see contact details below). This will ensure that the resources do not become visible to representatives from harmful industry groups and we can provide updated versions of the resources to everyone who has them as evidence and understanding changes.

Currency of resources

Vaping is still in the relatively early stages of being researched and understood which means that evidence and understanding is continually changing. Given this, Quit will be reviewing the resources regularly to ensure their currency. When they are updated, we will send you the latest version and ask that you discontinue use and delete any previous versions. This is one of the reasons why you were asked to sign up to receive these resources.
