Online training

Quit Victoria has developed online learning resources for health professionals and community and social service workers. Everyone who works with patients or clients and wants to encourage people to be smoke free should undertake this training.

Training programs are tailored to your needs

Our training programs are free and have been tailored to meet the needs of health professionals such as general practitioners, oral health practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals (including psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, dietitians, and physiotherapists).

What our online training offers

Our tailored  online courses provide guidance on how you can conduct brief interventions for smoking cessation with your patients/clients. 

On course completion, you will have learned about: 

  • the health effects of smoking and the benefits of quitting
  • how smoking is addictive
  • the evidence-based smoking cessation interventions
  • how to carry out a brief intervention for smoking cessation
  • how to use Quit Victoria services and resources to address smoking with your patients/client.
