My mum has smoked since she was about 16 and after begging her, and after her very many attempts to quit, one day I walked in and saw a patch on her arm. I asked her why she didn't tell me she was trying to quit and she said she didn't want to disappoint me if she didn't succeed. Happy to say that, eight years later, she hasn't touched another cigarette and I couldn't be any more proud of her.
