Here are some tips that will build your confidence to quit.
Give yourself time to prepare: set a quit date for 1-2 days away or 1-2 weeks away.
Find a quit buddy or someone you can stop smoking with (or someone who can support you).
It's also a good idea to speak with your GP or pharmacist. They can advise if any medications are appropriate to help you stop smoking and/or vaping.
Call Quitline or request a callback – they can offer support and chat with you about what to expect, as well as answer any questions you may have.
Just being here means you’re considering it. It shows real strength of character to take this first step.
Other people have done it and so can you – while your quitting story will be unique, it’s likely others will have faced some of the same challenges.
You don’t have to do it alone – our Quitline counsellors can help you all the way along the way.
