Why should you quit smoking?

Quitting smoking is the best choice for your health and wellbeing. It has many benefits for improving your personal image and self-esteem; it allows you to have more energy to spend with your family and grandchildren and be a role model for them; and it can also save you money.

The best way to quit smoking is to seek help from smoking cessation hotlines and to use smoking cessation medications, such as nicotine patches and nicotine gum.

How to get the right support for quitting smoking

You can find suitable smoking cessation support and strategies for yourself in many ways.

1. Call the smoking cessation hotline for free consultation

The smoking cessation hotline has a team of trained and qualified counsellors who can provide you with assistance in quitting smoking. Hotline counsellors can offer personalised, non-judgemental, and empathetic support to help you quit or answer your common questions about quitting. Some of the hotline counsellors were smokers themselves, so they may be able to share methods you've never tried before. You don't need to wait until you've decided to quit to call the smoking cessation hotline - you can call anytime for help.

2. Consult your doctor

Consulting your family doctor is a great start, even if you haven't yet made the decision to quit smoking. Your family doctor can answer any questions, offer support and encouragement, and address any concerns you may have about quitting. They can also prescribe cheaper smoking cessation medications and suggest adjustments to your regular medications. Schedule a consultation with your family doctor today.
